No more helicopters, pa-lease?
Erika + helicopter + no doors + the valley of hell with hellish turbulence + hard right turns = tossed cookies.
Yeah. Fun times, but it was like flying in a VW Bug convertible. With six people -- and me on the end literally hanging out the door.
Nifty sights while flying:
- active volcanoes
- "skylights" into the ground to see the active red lava
- lava pouring into the ocean (koolest ever!)
- 2000+ ft. waterfalls
- Jake's Bed and Breakfast (in the lava fields, only accessible by helicopter, still open for business)
- several of the 500 macadamian nut groves (bananas, eucalyptus, and possible some pot too)
- the amazing coastline
Let's hear it for the "aloha bags"!
PS: I enjoy Aloha very much. It involves much hugging and kissing by perfect strangers, lol.
