Catch22 - Parental Guidance

Apr 22, 2010 01:42

Sometimes I have these really weird plot-things in my head. More often than not, these ideas are just things I want to see and have no real relevance or bearing to the fandom I want to see them in. In most cases, I just ignore them and bury them deep in the recesses of my mind.

And sometimes I end up writing a catch22 entry. Bear with me as I ramble in disjointed paragraphs about that idea I've had that I'll never turn into a fic because I'm an attention whore and this idea is not what sells nowadays.

Basic premise? The "kids" from Ben 10 have been captured. Every. Single. One of them.
* Hero trio (I care so little for them I just lump them together now), check.
* Completely normal, completely adorable Julie, check.
* Basement-dwelling, super-geek technopath Cooper, check.
* Half-human, half-pin cushion Pierce, check.
* Tetramand-with-bionic arm Manny, check.
* Kineceleran-that-I-insist-has-no-breasts Helen, check.
* Half-Pyronite Alan Albright (I still don't get how Pyronites can "turn off" their fire. Wasn't it established in the original that they needed to maintain a certain temperature or risk DEATH? How did Alan's mom even survive the touching, let alone the unf-unf but I'm digressing), check.
* Supposedly non-alien Darkstar (No, seriously, Word of God, how can he be not an alien? Please don't tell me he's an AF vampire because that is LAAAAAAAAAAAAAME as all get-out given how his own father was a Plumber, making Darkles part-alien much more plausible), check.
* Non-alien witch Charmcaster (she'd be the oldest "kid" in the group), check.
* Tentatively Albedo (but we're not really sure how old he is in Galvan years so IDK just threw him in here), check.

Supposedly they've been caught by the big-bad and are being held somewhere. IN SPACE. Or some shizz like that. Omnitrix has been de-activated, power-neutralizers have been slapped onto the other kids, Manny gets extra heavy manacles, Helen has uh "wheel-boots", basically the big bad has taken the counter-measures to ensure the kids don't escape their cell.

We have the adults back on earth freaking out. And by adults I mean Alan's mom and that policeman from his episode, Cooper's folks, the Tennyson parents (both the cousin's) and Verdona naturally. It's something of a Plumber Parent reunion. Max moves to calm them down and plan what they have to do to rescue the kids. Because really, if your kids are the "law" and they've been kidnapped, you take matters into your own hands.

Then a posh, fancy shmancy looking car arrives. A big burly dude gets out the driver's seat and opens the backseat door and naturally it's Momma Darkles. Most of the Plumber Parents who actively served find her familiar and she reminds them of her Plumber husband Gabriel (purely fanon, I know, I know, this is why I'm never turning this into fic). Verdona freaks, goes into a spiel about leeches and parasites. Momma Darkles gets equally pissy, remarks about self-righteous, narrow-minded bigots.

Trust issues arise because hello parent figures of the enemy of their kid. Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and such. Max gives a big speech about how not only are their kids' lives at stake but the fate of the world too! Grudging agreement of putting aside their differences and plan is worked out.

Back to the cell with the kids. There is snarking and banter exchanged between the heroes and the villains. Jabs at pride and use and general "Can't you come up with anything? You're supposed to be the hero here."

Then heavy pounding approaches the solid door. Pounding grows louder, dents appear, and eventually a bio-suit rips it open. Verdona swoops in and mollycoddles Gwen then Ben then Curtis. I mean Kevin.

The Plumber adults (Cooper's folks and Max) go in next. Alan asks if his mom is here and Max assures the kid that she's safe and keeping the way home open. It's becoming clear that the villains are being ignored.

Until, "M-mom!?" Darkstar gasps.

"Michael." Is all she says before freeing him. Then she turns to the mana-witch, "Charmcaster, I presume?"

Then of course the plan isn't fool-proof and the security system activates. Or rather when everyone but Verdona, the villains, and Momma Darkles have yet to go through the "way home", Verdona activates the security system, "betraying" Momma Darkles because she's a "No-good parasite who would eat us all if we gave her the chance."

"And they're supposed to be the heroes." Darkstar mutters.

"Only if you don't count the Anodite." Momma Darkles shrugged then turned to Charmcaster, "Your Uncle mentioned something about a transportation spell? And that I should give you these component?" She hands the creepy mouth-bag to Charmcaster.

"You met with my Uncle?"

"How else would I have known my little man needed rescuing instead of just his allowance?"

"Mom!"

Albedo is feeling very left out here, but he's put to use when Darkstar and Momma Darkles drain him of energy to fend off their would-be captors while Charmcaster finishes with the spell.

Then they all go home.

The End.

catch22, i don't even know, no-talent-hack
