I found a really cool program to download: http://www.schmap.com/
If you are taking a vacation soon, think of this as Fodor's meets Google. This program outlines the hot attractions, the hot restaurants, the historical sites, and then allows you to click and be taken to the Schmap of the city. It becomes an interactive map of the city, showing you where it's located. etc.
The Schmap for NYC plus the Schmap player was a ~9 mb download.
