Albus turned to find Scorpius waiting for him. Scorpius brushed the soot off his shoulders before pulling him into a tight hug. The comforting presence of his lover reminded Albus why his mother’s opinion didn’t matter, in the end. He had Scorpius and that was all he would ever need.

awh! i want to say poor albus but he has scorpius and an amazing love, so i know he'll be more than alright :) it's ginny's loss - she's missing out on both her son AND a fab son-in-law!

Damn that Ginny!! I adore how Albus stands up to her and I loved the part about Scorpius climbing into bed to comfort him. Very nice!

Ginny is horrid here but Albus has learned to stand up to her and he has Scorpius.

Wow - this is intriguing, to say the least. I started reading and thought, no, this form cannot work, just have Albus' side of the argument, only dialogue. But it does work! The emotional built-up is so intense, like one would listen to years and years of the same escalating fight. It cumulates in this line, for me: “don’t make me chose, it won’t be you." and yes, my throat closed up reading this. Thanks for sharing.
