Random stuff on my hard drive

I was looking around my computer and stumbled on a bunch of ancient files. Presented here for your amusement.

A statement I wrote for campus security from when someone gave my ex-roommate's name when they got in trouble (fortunately Francesco is rather "distinctive", so when he showed up at his hearing it was obvious he wasn't the suspect).

A letter I wrote to a parking lot company after my car broke down, I left it in their lot, talked to the attendant when I picked it up, thought I wasn't going to get charged, then did anyway. I think this is the only time I've complained when I've gotten screwed over and it actually worked. Suppose that means I should do it more often.

Multiple horribly out of date versions of my resume (the most recent dates to Oct 15, 2004)

Goals for my old D&D campaign (gotta start one up again before the guys kill me)

Several beginning paragraphs to Lovecraftian noir short stories. Damn, I wish one of those had clicked.

Pictures of me with blue hair.

Old papers, ranging from an evaluation of search algorithms, the evolution of Buddhism in China, Oppenheimer as representative of scientific opinion re: the atomic bomb at various points in history, my thesis (the films of Kenji Mizoguchi pre-war vs post-war), and the best short essay I wrote (at least grade wise, I'm too nervous to read it again) about persisting feudal values and the difficulty of change in Ishimoto Shidzue's autobiography.

Archived e-mails (mostly to/from Chris).

Old papers of Chris's that she sent me to proof.

A "biography" of my roommate, made by doing a find/replace on a bio of Benjamin Franklin and some slick photoshop work. I think a prospective girlfriend of his asked me for this.

An archive of my horrible first website at college.

Some old code, including some OpenGL I'm still rather proud of, since a) I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing and b) I was forced to remember some trig, which I despise.

Various saved webcomics (a nice mix of things still around, things fondly remembered, and things I'm appalled I ever read).

Listings of various jobs I applied to, more than I remembered. (horrendously old these are. he he, I remember applying to the winery!)
