medical packet completed

After starting strong a month ago, things really started to slow down fast. I had made all my appointments, explaining to everyone how time-sensitive my needs were, and finding the most affordable places to go to because I don't have medical insurance.

The doctor I found's front desk told me that I could take care of everything all at once, and that Id be charged a hundred dollars out of pocket since I wasn't insured. This would cover my physical, the labwork, and my shots.

Sadly, this was not to be. The doctor repeatedly came up with reasons why of need to come back the following week, forcing me to pay an additional one hundred dollars to visit her each time. She also sent me to a lab to get my bloodwork, only for me to be charged eight hundred dollars-eight times what I was told the total would be- just for that. Then she charged me for each shot, and their administration.

I really didn't appreciate being lied too, bled for money, or at this doctor's mercy, but the final report was that I am in perfect health, and I got my medical packet back from her two days ago. Yesterday I slipped it into the mail as an express delivery. And God willing, it'll get to the Peace Corps today. My recruiter promises to put a rush on my file, so hopefully things will go quicker from now on.
