Dear Yulegoat -- Yuletide 2011
Hello, Dear Yuletide Author!
So there's not going to be a lot about each of the fandoms here. I feel like the requests (...which are being included for any kind other writers who like what they see here, coming over from the DYA post) pretty much cover it all -- but I wanted to talk about some general themes and the like, to give you a better idea of what I'm looking for!
In a general sense, I'm pretty catholic in what I like in my fandoms. As long as there's a decent plot or a strong character piece, I'm generally pretty happy -- and I stress, stress, that OPTIONAL DETAILS ARE OPTIONAL. I included some different ideas with each of my requests, including things that, yes, I would love to see, but what I really want is for you to be happy writing whatever you write. If you're happy, chances are I'll be happy, too.
More specifically, there are a few things I'd prefer not to see -- any kind of mpreg, for one; non-con; abuse of power. For the most part, I'm looking for generally happy-in-tone fics -- that's not to say that people can't be upset or anything at any time in them, but really I'd rather not see any kind of sadfic or darkfic out of this. I do like them, but it's not what I want to get out of Yuletide, y'know?
I'm okay with any kind of rating, and pretty much any kind of porn. I dislike purple prose. ;) Seriously, though, write what you like, and if one of my optional detail requests prompts a story for you, all the better!
(And yes, a lot of this letter is exactly the same as last year. That did make some things easy. ;) )

Request: Young Wizards
Characters: Kit, Ronan, Carmela
My most absolute absolute ideal fic would be Kit and Ronan a) on errantry, b) ending up in a 'ship, with c) Carmela tagging along and being awesome. Of course, one can't guarantee 'ships or anything in Yuletide, so I totally get it if you can't do the slash or anything! Errantry fic would be awesome, but mostly I love stuff that deals with Kit and Carmela's particular sibling relationship and Ronan's... Ronan-ness.
If you're not going for the Kit/Ronan, I'd prefer gen; if you do want to go for canon Kit/Nita, I'd prefer it backgrounded.
I also love pretty much anything that deals with the world Duane has built -- exploring the nature of wizards and wizardry is something I absolutely adore. As an additional note, I roleplay Ronan here; while I hardly expect you to adhere to my characterisation of him there -- he's grown significantly over the course of his four years in the game -- if you're interested, it does give some insight into how I treat both him and the Young Wizards universe.
Request: Alice (2009)
Characters: Alice Hamilton, Hatter, Jack Heart
Alice is a relatively new fandom for me -- I actually just saw it for the first time last week. (Yes, I know, at this point I'm rather late to the game.) One thing I found myself liking was Alice's relationships with both Hatter and Jack -- while Hatter is obviously the BESTEST OMG (Yay, Andrew Lee Potts!), my poly-minded heart was sad at the sudden loss of Jack, too.
I'd love to see exploring an Alice/Hatter/Jack threesome relationship -- I'd almost rather it not be porny at all, even, instead taking a look at the dynamics of it as a potential relationship. I have a hard time seeing Hatter and Jack moving that direction on their own, but the idea of Alice going, "... I like you both. Deal with it!" makes my heart skip a beat in delight. That said! Alice/Hatter, Alice/Jack, Jack/Hatter, no ship, whatever? It's all good with me! Mostly I adore these three characters -- and don't be afraid to have Jack/Duchess involved in here, too, if you want, and you're not including Jack in a 'ship with either (or both) Alice or Hatter.
Post-canon stuff would be awesome -- Jack rebuilding Wonderland, maybe with Alice and Hatter traveling back and forth to aid the efforts? Jack deciding to turn power over to the people once things are a little more stable, joining Alice and Hatter for Escapades and Adventures in Alice's world? Or maybe something else entirely -- as long as all three of Alice, Jack, and Hatter are involved, I will be happy. :D However you decide to write them.
Request: Stick It (2006)
Characters: Frank, Poot
I adore these two more than words can say. I have less to offer for details here -- I'd love to see something shippy here because I am an irrepressible slasher, but realistically I can't see them in a relationship being all that different than the two of them as friends, so YAY FRANK AND POOT. Seriously, the fic could be 1000 words of them bantering and insulting each other, and I will love it.
That said! If you wanted to explore something with the dresses, or the prom (with or without Joanne, but please to not be making her a screaming harpy), or maybe something with regards to 'straight guy sexual situations' (mutual JO, 'helping out a buddy', etc)? Any of that would be awesome! Or the two of them shooting the shit whilst video gaming, or... Basically, anything that has Frank and Poot at their joined-at-the-hip,-heterosexual-(or-are-they?)-life-partner Frank-and-Poot-iest, that is what I would adore.
Request: Switched at Birth
Characters: Toby Kennish, Emmett Bledsoe
One of the things that intrigues me about these two is the way that Toby is so casually privileged -- there's a lot of ways that he just doesn't get it, because he doesn't have the toolset to understand it. Emmett, meanwhile, is -- and has to be -- so conscious of privilege. How does that intersect? I'd love to see something slashy for these two -- maybe breaking off mid-season-one (or, well, middle of the first ten, since apparently season one is going include the next twenty-two episodes as well), maybe after. That said, I'm hardly going to be upset about something exploring a friendship between these two; while I'm certainly intrigued about how their dynamic would evolve in a relationship, it's the dynamic itself that I'm most intrigued by, whether friendship or romantic, and how it may help Toby (and Emmett!) grow.
