"Suns of Battle"

First off...click here!

The graphic novel is picking up crazy momentum.

This deviantart profile is going to act as a DVD extras-style repository for our work-in-progress in terms of the art and illustration end of the project.

It's going to be full of pre-lim character designs, pin-ups, promos, and even just inspiration pieces that get us revved up for whatever scene we're working on.  It's going to allow people to see the growth of the comic as we shape it into a graphic novel.  It'll be drawings by both Edgar (the REAL artist) and me (the shitty one, who should be writing).

Edgar Tovar's                                                           Abe Rivera's
THE CLAW WARRIORS    and    THE REACTORS  in:
                 SUNS of BATTLE

Ok, so back in the day (6th grade I believe), I created a group of Power Ranger rip-offs, called The Reactors, who were basically kids who somehow ended up on another world to fight the evil of a galactic overlord.  Around the same time, Edgar created a story about a family of animal-type people who were being trained by their legendary warrior father to one day protect their home, in case the evil that had plagued said world in his youth, ever returned.

Both of these "franchises" have been through dozens of iterations, both our artistic minds having evolved, our creations with us.

Well, recently, we decided that neither one of us having ever completed not one tale involving our respective groups, and being ready to take the plunge into out respective fields (writing and drawing) as more serious and professional minded young adults, that we should give these properties that gave us such creative outlets in our youth, one more go.

And how to do that?

Pretend that these groups have rich, legendary histories and write a cross-over story that spans both worlds and sagas.  Sure, they actually don't have rich, legendary pasts, but that's the fun.  No real continuity or canon gives us the opportunity to be all crazy-go-nuts with the story.  No restrictions or deadlines or anything like that means we're free to bring our best and most innovative ideas to the table, which gives, you, the reader the chance to bask in our best.

So, yeah.

Ummm...enjoy our creations!
