*pries self up* Hi. I'm not dead, despite evidence to the contrary.
I want to say hello and happy new year to all those still following me, and offer you the following pieces of news:
1) I have largely moved over to
Tumblr, though I primarily reblog puns. No one is surprised.
2) I have been posting on
AO3 in parallel to Tumblr and LJ, though I have not moved most of my stories over. If I'm serious about them, they're on AO3.
3) I am very much into Homestuck, though I have not abandoned Warcraft.
4) I started playing WoW again which ate my time like woah. I am doing this in tandem with FF14, though FF14's endgame mostly consists of helping my boyfriend and raiding.
5) UNITY IS NOT DEAD. No, really, it's not. I'm actually working on it. Chapters 19 and 20 are done, but stupid me decided not to have them posted until the entire thing is done, so they haven't been edited in any way, which is good because I misnamed an NPC and had to go back and fix that. Le woops.
So here are my goals:
- Complete Unity.
- Complete Assassin.
- Complete Stormcaller ("What's Stormcaller?" Stormcaller is the side story I wanted to write about Jaina when she went home to Kul Tiras because of that massive storm waaay back around Chapter 12 and reconciles with her family and she and Tandred team up to fight crime and also naga. No, I don't care Tandred's technically been retconned out. I consider Finnall canonical too.)
- Edit the first half of Unity again. See, one of the neat things about AO3 is that you can download stories from it, and read them on your tablet of choice (they have epub, mobi, pdf, etc). I went through Doomhammer and Assassin and was rather proud of myself, and then I hit the start of Unity and went 'what the fuck'? The thing is, I started Unity five years ago. A lot happened in five years, new ideas, new ships, new things I wanted to introduce and did so, but in stories that take place BEFORE Unity started, and now measuring up 2009 Unity with 2014 Unity, it feels shoddy. I don't intend to make massive changes, but I do want to just... clean up the first half, until I feel like it measures up to the standard I've hit now. We'll see how that goes, I'll probably have to read through a second time, highlight parts and make notes before I finalize anything.
Once I've completed each of these goals, I will get to work on Unity 2 (which is actually called Legacy), Fire and Ice (which is about Kael and Jaina in Dalaran), and potentially some other (hopefully) shorter stories, and of course, actually finishing a Homestuck story.
I'm not setting dates for any of this, but I do feel better about setting it to paper, such as it were.
Happy New Year! *throws confetti*
