The sentence is actually a sentence fragment/grammatically incorrect in that sense (obsessive grammar type person here lol). It probably sounds more correct in context though. As for style, the first is better in the sense of not sounding too flamboyant, but the second is a bit more clear.
I get what you mean though. There is a fine line between complexity and richness of language and "purple prose", and it can be difficult to find a balance between them. Personally I find that writing a first draft in which I don't correct phrasing (except for a few cases when there's a word I want to use that's on the edge of my mind and I know what it is but can't think of it, and so use the thesaurus function [book versions to much work for lazy me] to find the word I'm looking for) and just try to get out ideas works best because you write a lot more when you're not obsessing over details. Re-reading later gives you more perspective and it's generally better correcting (you can see the good and the bad as opposed to too much on or the either). Also, having someone read it over and give you feedback (writing workshops, betas etc) helps too. Though it's sometimes hard to find someone etc.

The statemt made at the end of my entry was not only in relation to writing and the styles of, but also, life in general. I was trying to make a universal statement that would make sense according to so many different things.
Like, i.e., my body, of which I (and you) have struggled to change so much and alter to what we think is perfect, when in fact, was perfect the first time all along.
