I dont like your application, but lately I've given out a lot of no votes.

I guess I'm interested in your contradiction. How can you be willing and stubborn simultaneously?

Check it:

These are things that sometimes describe me.

Not necessarily simultaneously.

You don't like my application? Why not give it a no? Don't hold off on voting, or even give me a yes just because you've not seen anything to your liking lately.

I was giving you new bait.

Here's your no.

Thanks. I wouldn't have needed to type that last comment if you'd have just said no, 3 minutes ago. Glad I could help make up your mind.

I am a teacher at a high school here. I speak English (obviously), Spanish, Russian, a decent amount of Portuguese, and am learning tons of Chinese and Cantonese daily just by being here.

I feel you could have answered some of the personal and political questions a little bit better, but that painting will always be engraved in my mind, thanks to you.

Your fluency in German impressed me very much, and I think you have a lot of insight, which leads me to my vote.

yes.

I'm not fluent in German! I just know enough to understand songs and such. Thanks for the vote though.

I was very impressed with your application, personally. I could sense a lot of passion in it. And the song lyrics you put down (though I'm sure they lose something in the translation to English) had me mesmerized. The whole application, quite honestly. I mean, I'd have to be mesmerized to read the whole thing, it was so damn long! That Goya painting frightened me once upon a time, as well, and I agree that people should be more willing to embrace less "pretty" art. Aesthetic beauty can only teach us so much, and usually all it can teach us about is itself. I also found your answer on prejudice to be succinct and right on.

Also, I agree. Wile E. Coyote is a genius. He just has such bad luck.

I give you a yes

I have a question, however, purely for my own ability to gain a different perspective. What exactly is it that you are referring to that might make Americans discontinue their "blind defense of Tibet"? I'm very interested to hear another perspective.

Well, for one thing, people don't realize that Tibet wasn't a sort of Utopia before Chinese occupation. The previous government, a theocracy, openly oppressed certain peoples there. Also, if China hadn't invaded, the Soviet Union most certainly would have ( ... )

Thank you very much for that. I agree that people tend to only get one side. It's much better to get as much information as possible before making up your mind forever. In fact, people should ALWAYS remain open to new information, while always keeping their "propaganda radar" on at full power, too.

Definitely. Don't get me wrong, the my propaganda radar is overloading here. I've bought CD's of "Tibetan Folk Music" here that have songs (sung in Chinese!) titled "Chairman Mao sent his men to help us" and "Love and Praise for Mao Zedong". I mean come on. How much more obvious could propaganda get? At least in America it's not as obvious!
