Took the day off from the archives and city transport to recuperate a bit from smog and just hours worth of reading dusty documents. It's been a blast, but my head couldn't quite take anymore, so I had to have a little break. I still read some and made some appointments, etc., etc., but not the usual 10 hour crazy day.
I'm amazed by how much I absolutely love Brazil. I knew that I missed this place, but coming back makes me realize just how much I love it. I love speaking Portuguese and seeing friends and, well, it's just a magical place for me. Plus, São Paulo's a big city, and I might as well accept the fact that I'm a city girl. I just like the movement and options.
I feel like I travel around, but don't have exciting stories to share: it's kind of ironic. I could write about how awesome the data set is I found or how cool the archivists are or the professors I had lunch with, but there's nothing particularly spectacular about those things. I guess that's the coolest part: I just like "living" here. I have another home.
