step on a crack and break your mama's back...

So to all you who had a relaxing Memorial Day, POOH ON YOU!

I spent the weekend like a good daughter helping my dad and step mom plant their garden. Yes, it took the ENTIRE weekend, including Monday.
Why you ask? I had to haul boulders the size of a large child, and not just one or two, but about 30.
Their were $300 worth of flowers we planted, about 20 hostas, and the pine mulch we laid down as well. This was no easy task. I'll spare you the gory details of everything else we did. Although I feel as though my back will never be the same, it felt really good to do some hard labor.

The worst of it.. and this is no joke... was my dad having me vacuum his deck. I was out there with the shop vac on his deck-- all the neighbors watching.
Nice.
I'm the neighborhood weirdo. And I don't even live there.

I can just hear the families talking...

"did you see that girl vacuuming?"
"yes, I think she's OCD"
" I feel bad for her parents- they must be mortfied"
" For sure- we don't vacuum our decks here on saddle lane- "
"At least hire someone to do it"

Did I ever mention my dad lives on the mafia street in Michigan?
