I really love what their relationship has so quickly become. (Misha's line kind of exemplifies my impression of it, hence the inclusion.) They were sort of dancing around it for a little while before they got together, but not for so long that it was frustrating or they have a ton of lost time to make up for, and now they can just coast on it. And there's still bitching back and forth but no actual doubts about how they feel, which is just refreshing (especially in the face of relationships like Mark and Cory's, or David and John's).

He'd done the family Christmas thing and it had nearly killed him; he was determined to do New Year's differently.

John's just so anti-social norm, I love him! He's trying so hard, and nothing is going his way, but now he's determined to make himself happy despite everything else. I'm thinking that it's not going to be quite as he plans, despite his gung-ho attitude (maybe he's going to get some help that he's not planning on,

Seriously - I just love how you get the words on the screen and all the subtext that's not. It's awesome and it makes me positively giddy with glee. 'Cause it means I'm doing this right, that I'm writing this right. That means more to me than anything else anyone could ever say. I think I've become a better writer writing J2; there's something about these guys that strikes a chord in all of us and yeah, they're hot as sin personified but so much more and to try and capture a little of that magic with words is thrilling, and to have it appreciated is the best compliment ever.

I just gotta say that it means so much to me that you appreciate this. I mean, for goodness' sake, it's not like I don't absolutely love and adore reading these chapters, because I do, and they really inspire/move me to post the lengthy comments that I do, so it's not like a hardship or anything, but to hear back from you is just really...gratifying.
