I've decided to try my blogging skills in an enlightened state of mind. I don't really know what I am going to shoot off about, so bear with me. If it starts off bad, try to stay with it. It should get better eventually. If not, let me know. I'll stop immediately.

Has anyone ever realized how many activities we pack into one 24 hour period? Look around at all the tired faces before you. We are all worn out. Is i because we don't eat right? Is it because we don't exercise often enough? The answer is no. Regardless of athletic prowess or dieting sensibility, every person today is doing more in shorter amounts of time.

Rewind about 200 years. How long do you think it took somebody, horse and wagon, to "drive downtown?" Things in the past took significantly longer to accomplish then they do today. The benefits of doing more with less time include increased productivity. Increased productivity almost always leads to more profits. The one problem with this, however, is that we tire quicker and stay run down. We never get a chance to recover. The two hour wagon trip it takes a car 15 minutes to complete gave people a chance to relax and gather their thoughts. They were in no rush because they simply lacked the ability to be able to do so.

Look at what you accomplish in any given day. Think of all the phone calls and text messages you complete in one 24 hour period. Communication is instant. Think of how much work you do in one eight hour shift. Because of increased efficiency lent to us by modern inventions and smarter work plans, we run around like chickens with our heads cut off. The increased amount of time it took to build a house or communicate long-distance back in the day afforded those people time to stay composed. They weren't being force-fed information every five seconds. They weren't able to receive so many communications in one three-minute period that they permanently damage their short-term memory.

The moral of this longer than needed synopsis here is that we all need to SLOW DOWN. We are moving way too fast. We are moving right towards our graves. What's our rush?
