Overdue Update is Long in Coming
What's the point of having a LJ if I never write on it? But here I am.
Let's see what's been up since last I talked.
Did I even talk about the Honors Symposium? I think I did. So that happened, and people still come up to me and talk to me about it. I'm actually going to be taking the left over comics to Mills College tomorrow as my teacher-mentor and I will be part of a panel talking about our experiences together last semester.
I might have to look into scanning those pages and making a pdf if I'm going to keep getting involved in these kinds of things
And it'd be nice to have extras to give away on tumblr.
I started school and I've basically hit the ground running: TWO honors classes, two regular classes: Honors History:History of History(basically it's about historians and what they wrote about and how people have decided what to label as 'history' and as 'unneeded to know'), Honors Biology, Art History: Medieval to Renaissance and Intro to 3-D Art. The two history classes are with my two favorite teachers at LMC: Kaiper and Alexander(I had him for my Shakespeare class) and i love them. Not doing my usual best in Honors History but Kaiper said I'm still one of the top students so I'm gonna calm my tits about it.
Art history is fun: He's loaning me books on Celtic art as we have to do art based on what we're learning in his class and I want to do a painting of my Family Crest, and since that crest is from the Welsh side, I have to use the art of that time period that the crest was given(around Richard III) and Wales was part of the Celtic culture then so...Celtic art! I'm having fun trying to figure out if I want to do an illuminated manuscript style page with the family motto or do a fancy painting with knots and shit.
So there's that.
Also Crystal got me into the A Song of Ice and Fire and I am LOVING it. I'm driving her and her text inbox CRAZY with all my 'JON SNOOOOOWWWW <3<3<3<3" and liveblogging reading it: "LADY :<" "FUCK YOU CERSEI" and "I AM FULL OF EMOTIONS " and she's just like 'spoilers! spoilers!' "stop crying' and " tyrion is where its at, fuck Jon Snow'.
I love Jon Snow.
Love him so much, I hope nothing happens to him/he doesn't change or do anything to make me hate him, because I'm loving him the way I love Remus Lupin: I want to protect them and shield them and run off to an island with them and give them happy endings and the kind of love and adoration I have for them both is something that I love, it makes me happy to feel that way about the characters. I mean, there's other characters I love and admire, Jean Grey, Catwoman, etc, but I love them for being strong and I love Jon Snow and Remus Lupin for being strong enough to be weak..Does that even make sense?
Well anyways, so I'm fangirling A Game of Thrones pretty hard, and just about shat my bricks when I found out how to get closed captioning on my download of the tv show, which i still haven't watched..
And that's all: A Game of Thrones, JON SNOWWWW and school.
