summer fun.

Sunday was the Nine Inch Nails/Bauhaus/Peaches concert in Milwaukee care of my boyfriend winning tickets.
It was fantastic, but I hope nothing makes me want to go to summerfest again.

I hadn't heard much from Peaches before the show and she totally blew me away. She is a sexy energetic performer. I would definitely like to see them again.

I am not a Bauhaus fan. at all. But I was quickly impressed w/ Peter Murphy's stage presence. and his sexy/funny rocker poses. The best part was the sexy walk backwards in place move. During the Nails set Murphy joined Reznor in singing what I think was a Bauhaus song since I didn't know it.

I was very excited to see Nine Inch Nails but also worried because my only other nails concert experience is one of the very best concerts I've ever been to. back in 2000. I readied myself to not expect that level of concert going. Good thing too. It was very hard to see what was going on on stage w. all the smoke. There didn't seem to be much running, jumping around and other stage antics. Last time I saw them I was so close I could see Reznor's makeup clearly. The set list, I thought, contained to many pretty hate machine songs. It did thankfully have a few Broken era songs that sound great live. I could have done without "head like a hole" and "burn". The good thing about not being too close it that I could much easily view the stunning light screens. I don't know when they upgraded this but they added a screen in front of them too that also makes moving pictures that don't entirely obscure the band. They used the screens a lot in the first half of the show but I think they could have used it more and done more complex things with it. The best visually, was Reznor standing on a riser in front of a red screen for some cool silhouette action. But he only did that for one song. I couldn't ID the members of the band very well from the distance/smoke, but I believe "Twiggy" was with them. Overall it was a very good concert. not one of the best but it was refreshing to go to a concert with high-end sound and visuals.
