(no subject)
Hello ladies! It's been a while. Since I use twitter (and now my new tumblr, le sigh) to keep the Internets updated on my life, I don't really feel the need to update my lj/dw unless I'm putting out a new podfic, but I do kinda miss it, so.
- I've just had a two week break from Uni, during which I have done...uh...not a whole lot. Part of that was due to an inflammation in my right wrist (which is mostly gone now, thank god) but mostly it was me being lazy, let's be honest here. I did go shopping though! Excitement!
I came across some pretty interesting articles on body shapes and how to dress them recently. The advice for my body shape basically came down to 'Skirts are your friends!', which suits me just fine. I've been buying more and more skirts already and just changing my wardrobe in general. I haven't always felt all that comfortable in my clothes over the last few years, and I think this change will help me feel more comfortable in my body, too. Yay!
Also on the agenda: bra shopping. Shopping for well-fitting bras is haaaaard. \o\ It's not like I need a large or unusual size, but it seems like the shape I need isn't a common one. :/ And proper sports bras are expensive. \o\
- I started doing my nails in an effort to stop myself from chewing them up and it's been working wonders. In fact, it's been going so well that I now own a rather excessive amount of nail polishes and have been trying out some nail art designs. It's a good thing that I have a tumblr now and can use that to post all the pictures I keep taking instead of spamming my twitter feed with them every few days. And now my sister has asked me to do her nails on her wedding day which, uh, no pressure. <.<'' (DID I MENTION THAT MY SISTER AND HER BF ARE GETTING MARRIED THIS FALL AND I'M SUPER HAPPY ABOUT IT? :D)
Mostly I've been doing game day nails though, because if there's one thing that'll help my team win, it's me wearing their colours on my nails, right?
- Speaking of which: hockey. Yeeeeah. Somehow I've ended up being super invested in the Chicago Blackhawks and the game of hockey and catching as much of their games as I can. And considering that time zones are a thing, that has ended up with me getting up at weird times of the night and losing a lot of sleep. I really like it though? It's a really cool game once you get to the point where you can kinda sorta follow where the puck is most of the time. It's fast, it's intense, it occasionally involves people punching each other in the face. Awesome. :D And this season has been a great one to start being a Blackhawks fan. Go Hawks! <3
- In other fandom news: before and during the break, I watched all currently available episodes of Person of Interest over the course of like, a week. (At ~22 episodes per season, with two seasons out there, that's kind of a lot.) I LOVE this show. It's amazing and everyone should watch it. :D Well. Anyone who likes vaguely crime procedural-type shows with an interesting twist, addictive story lines (in the 'it's midnight but I really want to watch another episode or two' way), super awesome female characters, feelings, action, heart-wrenching agony, humor and so much more. Also there is a dog called bear and A KIDFIC EPISODE BECAUSE HAROLD PANICS AND KIDNAPS A BABY AHHHHHHH MY HEART~~~
Ahem. Sorry about that. I ordered the first season right away and have given it to my parents, who also really like it. Too bad they'll have to deal with the super evil season 1 finale cliff-hanger. :3 Season 3 apparently starts airing this fall, which I'm incredibly grateful for. I thought I'd have to wait until next year!
- Guess what finally came out in Europe? Persona 4 Arena! I've been waiting for this game for over half a year and finally, FINALLY, I have it in my hands! Or, well, I briefly had it in my hands before I had to leave for Uni and also I couldn't really play much of it because of my aforementioned wrist problems. -.-
What I've seen of it so far is really great, though! :DDD I love these characters so much and I'm so happy to get more of them. I can't really say much about the fighting system so far, but I really like this kind of 2D fighter.
So that's what's been going on in my life lately. I've also been working on an epic-length podfic project that I'm really excited about, but that'll take a while yet (Ahaha understatement of the year). Let's see if I can get off my ass and write some more updates before it's posting time for that one. ;D
