I'm still confused, but on a higher level. (school, charity, Anime)

+ You guys. Quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics are awesome. :D Utterly bizarre and confusing, but awesome. This is the topic I've been looking forward to for the last two years, but now we only have about 5 lessons left to talk about it. :(

+ We're going to watch the movie/documentary/whatever it is about BANKSY in art class tomorrow! This is also decidedly awesome.

+ On a more serious note: Regarding the events in Japan, the Japanese club I'm in did a small charity drive. We folded origami cranes beforehand and everyone who donated got one of them in return. My Mom also asked some of her co-workers to donate (and gave them some of my cranes) and all in all, including donations my teacher got from her acquaintances, we collected about 3000 €, which is way more than we expected. All the money goes directly to a school in a small coast town where a friend of my teacher lives. I'm not sure how many origami cranes all of us made for this, but I'd like to think it was 1000, just for the sake of symbolism.

+ I've caught up on the latest episodes and chapters of One Piece and I'd just like to say that Oda-sensei is a genius. I was left in emotional turmoil by everything in the Marinford arc (Oh my god, I cried so much T.T) and honestly can't think of any story in any medium that has affected me this much. Even Wolf's Rain, to which I'm ridiculously attached, and which makes me cry every time I see it, doesn't compare. In hindsight I'm really glad I waited for so long until seeing these episodes, because despite the fact that I spoiled myself ages ago, the events hit me so hard that I really needed the latest chapters of the Manga to build me up again. And build me up, they did. I'm seriously overusing the word 'awesome', but every time I think about the post-time skip events I kind of lose myself in the flailing, so yeah, it is awesome.

These characters have been a part of my life for so long, even if I neglected them for a few years, that every new plot twist and turn and reveal affects me on a very personal level. So yeah. Oda-sensei: king of world-building, character development, amazing plots and making me cry.

(I also just watched the second Movie, which wasn't even written by Oda-sensei, but still made me cry for secondary characters that never appear in the series. So basically, One Piece makes me feel a lot of feelings.)

+ I've also been mainlining Yu Yu Hakusho, an old shonen series. It's really entertaining, even if I skipped large parts of some of the fights, especially during the second arc. Thank god newer Anime don't have to rely on the whole 'use-the-same-scene-tens-of-thousands-of-times-because-we-don't-have-enough-money' thing. When you see a guy running away whose head was cut off just minutes ago, well...suspension of disbelief goes only so far.
Still, it's a good show, and I can see why it was/is so popular. Only one arc to go!
