So. After two days constantly on the verge of tears for stupid reasons, I have decided to stop moping and focus on the fact that life, when you come down to it, is pretty fucking amazing. So this post is all about awesome stuff.
Like people giving me cake and cheering me up. Like people giving me books I want - for example, a friend got me THE BOOK OF AWESOME by Neil Pasricha, which is a delight to look at (neon colours on black fuck yeah) and a delight to read.
Like chilling with my hopefully future bro-in-law R., watching Star Trek which he knows pretty much everything about. Like finally getting around to watching Star Wars IV and identifying ships with the handy guide R. drew me once.
Like the weather getting better and better, so that I'll soon be able to drive my motorcycle again. Like the fact that I'm getting a haircut next week, because I freaking love getting haircuts.
Like spending your morning watching the Legally Blonde musical on the Internet and then listening to the Soundtrack on repeat. Like playing Angry BIrds on my Dad's new iPad while I wait until the Baileys-Nutella-muffins I just made are ready to come out of the oven.
Like Patrick Stump, who looks amazing and incredibly young and whose new song and video I adore.
Like reading the entirety of Scott Pilgrim over and over again and making collages for art class with Wallace Wells in them because he is my favourite.
Like fandom, which is full of the most amazing people. People you have never seen in person but who know you better than some of your rl friends. People who live thousands of miles away and can make your day so, so much better.
Sometimes I just want to travel around the world, meet fandom people and give them big, big hugs.
All of this fits something I came up with when I fooled around with the graphic tablet a friend let me borrow:
