93: not quite bert's birthday bag

Despite Chloe's previous marilyn climbs being fairly disastrous (a poor option descending Arthur's Seat and a soaking on Walton Hill), I somehow thought it would be a good idea to drag the family up North Berwick Law. The hill proper was shrouded in mist which somehow persuaded Chloe it was higher (it's not very high at all), more dangerous (it's not very dangerous at all) or challenging (it wasn't very challenging for Bert, although a bit more so for Chloe who had Reggie on her back some of the way). Halfway up they decided to duck the challenge and wait at the picnic table.

They missed out the best bit: the fibreglass replica whale bone and ruin, rendering the misty summit all the more eerie, like the last vestiges of some remote community rather than summit architecture just above a tourist trap town.

I think Bert had more birthday fun in the pub and on the beach.
