Since i'm sick and didn't get to go to JB today after all,
I decided to continue from where I left off
from last time!
This was Friday, 11 December, 2009!
Shinjuku
I know... WHAT
Jes doesn't look too happy..
.
Before i realized it, it was time to meet
Fumi in Shibuya!
Shibuya
She brought us to some unknown corner of Shibuya.. but our food was good!
Happy after food and sharing about our various ministries - it was what we both needed.
Before getting our coats and getting out of the place.
I then waited ALONE IN THE RAIN for HALF AN HOUR at hachikō due to some miscomm!
After meeting up with the rest, we went to the dessert parlor across the road.
We got the window seat!
Parfait! Someone already took a bite of pudding..
Georgie acting cute again
Maybe auntie Julie wanted some of that..
OMG YUM
Dessert doesn't really seem to be their thing..
Our table!
Back into the rain.. we decided to split up
for a few hours. Us kids shopped at loft!
Hachikō statue, a popular meeting place.
This was where I met Fumi in the morning!
Discounted sushi after 6PM - sweet!
I don't eat salad but they make it look good!
Man......
Yakitori! More food!
We were eating cake every single day we were there.. these are cute right?
Okay but raw fish = not that appetizing
Back to Shinjuku after our dinner - this place is always crowded!
Kabukichō, Shinjuku
One of the host clubs in kabukichō - some hosts wait on the streets to pick girls up.
This is Zoe from Hong Kong; we met her while we were lost and decided to tour together.
.
Omg! A giant butt! In a tacky discount store.
This was Saturday, 12 December, 2009!
Yokohama
We begun our day with THIS.. what'd I tell you! We love cake!
I don't like tarts as much, though this looks pretty yummy as well..
I can't remember which station we ended up at, although this looks more suburban.
I will never understand this guy..
Our moms tried their best to smile but the sun was too bright
We're on our next train..
Linette's wearing a mask because she's really sick, the rest are all just playing.
Another train transfer; Daryl's still happy.
Someone did not get the memo..
We arrive at the emptiest train station I ever saw in my life..
See? Empty.
Masks make you look more dramatic
Except he doesn't need one
ARE WE THERE YET
Someone needs to teach daryl how to smile
Yay! We're here!
Blue skies!
Just soaking it in.
What a monkey
BLUE BLUE BLUE
They have many, many shops.
Tiny trolleys for kids!
WE FOUND MORE MASKS
"The wha...?"
We have arrived.. at the harbor!
Mom = Ash Ketchum
Mom and I.
SO many boats!
Daryl just looks like that in ALL our family photos.
I'm playing with my new camera..
Georgie's playing with.. okay I pity her.
Mcdonald's!
And Starbucks! All for familiar food.
Somehow we're always eating.
Cute candid
So that was really brunch..
And we set off to find our mothers to get lunch!
So many dogs around.. and they're all dressed in warm clothes.
Jes wanted to ride so badly..
We tricked her out of it! She looks fine.
Kids will be kids
The food looks so good! But we didn't eat here.
And they have bubble tea WITH THE COLORFUL PEARLS THEY USED TO SELL AT HOME.
Mothers are happy = good sign
Ended up at some Chinese place for lunch Not too bad.. but I really wanted to eat at that place we saw earlier!!!!!!!!! Too bad for me.
Journey back home.. passing through the ghost station again.
And you can see the difference when we get out of Yokohama.. mad crowded!
Queuing up for the train...
Got onto the wrong train. :(
It's cool that kimonos are everywhere
Saw this nice sunset when we alighted.. pity no one else was as impressed as I was!!!!
All the streets in Japan look the same.
More walking..
Until we reached this! The ramen museum!
Figured we would check it out since we were nearby..
Old school festival games
She was initially trashing him before he caught up!
Old school shops.
Taking a rest.
The ramen there wasn't all that.
But decor was nice except for the fake sky.
This woman loves her job!
This was Sunday, 13 December, 2009!
Tokyo Imperial Palace
Japanese-looking tree (if there is one)
All the kids
Some triathlon thing going on that day
They look like they're in Europe actually
Akihabara
We got tired of the place after awhile and went to Akihabara
Sundays are supposed to be when all the cosplayers get out, but it was kind of a disappointment - we didn't see that many at all, and most of them didn't allow photos. Apparently there have been fewer cosplayers ever since
that incident a year ago so there aren't as many now.
Shibuya
So anyway, we revisited Shibuya since Linette didn't go with us the other day.
The first thing we saw was this camera crew! And supposedly a Japanese idol.
Pity all the shots I got of this idol are all rather unglam... ha ha ha!!!
This taiyaki stand had the weirdest flavors..
Venturing into one of the side streets.
Took a tea-break!!!!
I had the chocolate tart this time..
Georgie had the special fruit tart and iced tea!
Looking at these pictures make me feel like having some right now
Wow it was already dark out.
Harajuku
Bling truck!
I like this tree
We made a brief stop here and walked through all the shops reallyyyyy quick.
All i remember is we spent a super long time at daiso! Not many photos.
Shinjuku
Had our last dinner near our hotel - we wanted sukiyaki, but settled for shabu shabu because half of us couldn't walk any further...
all i can say is, you definitely can find better shabu at kallang! At least their okonomiyaki was nice.
We're wrapping up our trip with another WHAT? moment... yeah. We got these cheap at daiso, that's all.
The rest would probably hunt me down for posting even one picture.....
This was Monday, 14 December, 2009!
This was our hotel lobby.. we woke up early that day to wait for our ride to the airport. We didn't take any photos at the airport after that... I think everyone was just waiting to get home!
Okay so ends our Japan trip!
I actually can't get enough of that place; hoping to go back again soon.
Meanwhile, bidding for my classes is KILLING ME!
