Ther were work drinks today, and good work drinks because five people, count 'em, are leaving. Fruit platter! Cheese! Chip butties! And everyone (well, several people) took care to point out the cheese to me, which I was nonplussed by until I remembered the last work function, at which I got drunk and talked at length about cheese and curling ( Read more... )

Oh, you. Every work function ever, Aly and I eat all the cheese. Seriously. She and I have cheese conversations *alarmingly* frequently.

And I *do* like you, and you *would* be a hot gay British swimmer.

Also: I was talking about International Pumpkin Pie Day at my birthday function this evening, and my friend Lex a) proposes that we change it to Intergalactic Pumpkin Pie Day and b) says you have a hot name. Just wanted to, respectively, run it by you and let you know.

Oh, cheese. Cheese, cheese, cheese. The hard cheeses weren't bad tonight, but the Brie was way unripe. And no blue. :(

Well, it's International because you, me and Claire = two nations, so if we can get someone from another galaxy in on the action, I'm there. I think a paragraph of McShep would qualify. And tell her thanks. (Really? Chris or Christina?)

Mmm, Brie. Sorry. I need a moment.

Okay. Get on that. ;)

I think the name thing was because it's a girl's name that can be turned into a boy's name? Or something? His criteria confuse me.

The best part about MCS-H39** wasn't so much the fact that - for once - no one was trying to shoot at them, at any point, or even that the natives had quite sensibly elevated the ceremonial cheese platter to a ritual that seemed (according to the anthropologists, who were having fits of glee all over the place) to fall somewhere between a Holy Rite and the Japanese Tea Ceremony, something of which Rodney approved quite strongly, no, it was that that also seemed to be the only system which had successfully hybridised and bred a variety of earth-descended vegetables, most of which ran out literal days after the Daedalus could bring them in ( ... )

See, I actually wouldn't find that annoying. The hanging-on mouth breathers are annoying.
