I know, I haven't posted in a while, and when I do I post about a different fandom. I'm a fandom whore. What can I do? ( Not to offend Buffyverse or anything... )
I do like Sherlock, even though my favorites will always be the original Doyle stories and Jeremy Brett. I've just avoided the fandom because I have to wait for them on Netflix. We just got series 2 this week!
And, just a quick rant, at the end of Reichenbach Fall they were doing so good. And then they had to go and do the same thing the last movie did and actually show the audience he was alive. Come on! First, anyone who knows Sherlock Holmes knows he faked his death. And second, does no one have the patience to wait and wonder any more?
Anyway, that's why I don't read Sherlock fanfics. I don't want to get hooked and ruined.
I know! I recently got back into fandom partly due to Netflix having both series.
EXACTLY. I'm with you, even though I can still see why Moffat/Gatiss wrote it that way. I mean, I suppose it just adds to the already huge following and adds to the feeling of frustration and relief, something I suppose they didn't have in the books/earlier adaptions. It doesn't make me any happier, though.
And that's both a shame and a blessing. There are some pretty fantastic fics out there, but waiting for next August (eruuuughhhh) is killing me so, so slowly.
