Spring War debriefing

Mar 23, 2009 10:28

This weekend was Spring War, a big big national Amtgard event that was just an hour away. Even though I have no love for the society of Amtgard I tried to generate interest among my peeps to go, since it was a great way to see both dree and jillicious, Tollan, sharjinka and kalidascopeeyes all in one place. I guess I am glad I did not go then, fighting has never been the focus of my love for HFS and I really need to devote my attention back to it and work towards service awards in any way that I can.

Drunks, fighting that was mismanaged and potential drama/potential for lots of idiots means I would not have had as great a time as I wanted. Add to the fact that I would have known so few people :p.

Ah well, glad you had some fun with the friends that were nearby.

I'd like to apologize on behalf of a company that I am not a part of in a kingdom that I don't belong to. Spring War this year was a miss-managed cluster F this year. Steps are being taken to make sure it never happens again and that the appropriate people are being hanged in the streets.

It was good to see you and yours. I hope that you can talk yourself into making it out next year, if not sooner.

Thank you, Slyddur. There's no need to apologize. I had a great time, and I have many new reasons to laugh at a company you are not a part of in a kingdom that you don't belong to. I think I'm finally getting the reason why other people have gone to events these many years instead of flopping out at home like I've done.

but... If Warlock's head ends up on a pike can I have a picture?

hehe .. Warlock is still alive?!? His ex-wife is a pretty good friend of mine and told me he was playing again. So sorry you had to deal with that. ;)

We got a phone call from Zak about SW but I could not understand it. Was there a knighting that happened?

Yes, there were three.
Crom, For his third, Kyrupt, who I don't know, and Warlock.

I don't have any outrageous stories for you. Nothing completely horrible happened that I was witness to. Wartlock was just running the war game (and event too, I think), and was loud and bellowing game rules at everyone like we'd done something wrong rather than actually getting the game ballanced or started. It was a long series of long waits and just completely unmanaged at his hands. So, of course, they knighted him.
