First day of work experience in a newspaper office has taught me a number of things; the most important being that reporters are nosy little buggers, and exceptionally clever at getting information out of people when they want it. You must be some kind of uber-deceptive fiend to work for a national newspaper. But this ain't a national newspaper -- not by a long shot.

And Amazon.co.uk are charging me one pound less for the sixth Harry Potter book. [Can you say "price war with Tesco's?"] Which is nice and friendly of them.

Is it really less than two weeks?

I feel very, very sorry for anyone who doesn't like Harry Potter: July 16 -- and the week following it -- is going to be like a repeated smack over the head with a coconut. I for one am going to do exactly what I did when I got my grubby little hands on OotP -- retreat to my room for seven and a half hours with quick breaks for essential bodily functions. Best way to read it, in my less than humble opinion.

And Live 8 was funny as hell. So many old people, so little time.
