Just got back from a Billy Joel concert.
It's the first time this year that my room is filled with my roommate's friends and I honestly don't give a shit.
That's how good it was.
Later, after I got my thoughts together...
Actually, I still can't speak too much about it right now. The entire thing was perfect, especially since we had bought the cheap tickets that turned out to be the second best seats in the house. (The cheap tickets were in the balcony behind the stage. The thing was, there was no curtain behind the stage, and the only two monitors in the space were pointed towards us. So, not only were our cheap seats closer to the stage than 70% of the expensive seats so we had a continuous profile view of him, but we had up close views of him as well. Not to mention the fact that he and the other instrumentalists kept walking to the back of the stage to play and sing directly to us.) The best part, though, had to be in his final encore of "Piano Man" when he stopped singing and playing during the choruses and allowed the entire audience to sing back to him.
Thank you, Bethany, for giving me the best 2.5 hours I've had in many months.
