"Uh...just a couple of prints by...oh, who's that person...oh, by Monet." <== That's a direct quote by Mom in a Rodeo Drive art gallery. The poor guy actually thought we might be able to afford some of that stuff they had there! Luckily(?), he seemed distracted by me so everyone else could beat a hasty retreat away. Only in Cali, I guess.
Well, it's the end of Day 2 in LA, and I can definately see why both my parents wanted to move out here. Except for all the panhandlers and homeless people, and most of Hollywood, Los Angeles is a very beautiful yet eclectic place. Hustlers is an excellent example, which is a large glorified sex shop that sells coffee and fresh juice as you shop. Didn't go it, but I was soooo thirsty at the time. ;) Started the day out with a trip to Venice Beach, then went out to lunch at one of the best sushi restaurants in America (especially for the prices, wow they were cheap). After that, we took a little trip to the obscenity which is Rodeo Drive, where we got the quote above. After that, we spent another hour driving around lost, trying to find Hollywood Blvd. without knowing we were about 2 blocks from it the whole time, and after a brief trip to the Mann's Chinese Theater headed back to the hotel.
Having a blast out here, even though the -3hr time difference is murder. Will update soon unless rehearsals start up soon.
