State of the Ursula

It bugs me that I've only managed a few fluffy posts about wild escapades, buying furniture and painting the house. Or photo posts (more should be coming this weekend). But work has been too action-packed lately for me to draw back enough to compose anything of substance. It's hard to think clearly when you never know when the next interruption is coming or how much time you'll have to work on a thought.

And then there's the slobbering huge pile of stuff on my to-do list. The good news is that I knocked off a few significant items toward the end of last week and over the weekend, including nagging my insurance company to get Gavin's insurance bills squared away and shoveling the excess junk out of the downstairs closets, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming floors.

Exciting stuff, yes. The closets look great. But now there's a huge Mound of Stuff heaped on top of the parlour sofa that has to be taken to the thrift store, given away, ironed, altered and sewn or tagged for sale at Twelfth Night. (It's in Charlotte, and yes, we're going!) If we've had to shove it aside to get at our other stuff for at least five years, it needs to go! Heave ho!

The eleven household moves that I helped with last year were a huge inspiration to get rid of all the stuff that's been sitting around taking up space and doing us no good. I mean, do we really need to keep the purple mirabou top hat from Gavin's Spider Man (as a Pimp) Halloween costume?

Ahhh...Ambien is finally taking effect....I might actually get some sleep tonight.
