Great night at L&B's with loads of brilliant people that we don't see often enough. The food was RIDICULOUS. Crazy delicious stuffing, brandied chocolate pecan pie, incredible peanut butter pie, homemade chocolate orange swirl birthday cake, tons of great stuff that there was simply no room to try. I didn't even bother trying the turkey and ham. I contributed
Mediterranean Quinoa Salad to help balance out the sweets, meats and starches. Sampled a few industrial strength "shootered" gummy bears (first they wobble, then you do) and some decent Reissling.
Meanwhile, I dusted off the rust for a few games of pool, and we watched
Fruit Ninja in action, and the dart board got a workout. I contributed a fridge-worthy creation at the handturkey crafting station. We'd brought
Cards Against Humanity, but enough fun was being had that it would have been overkill, so we put them away for another time.
Before leaving we took some pictures in the photo booth they'd set up with goofy hats and whatnot to choose from. Will definitely steal the idea for our next party. Gary's thinking of hosting one around the 15th, but so much is going on, it might be better to wait for a slower time. Tentative plans in the works for a roadtrip to the
Poe Museum in Richmond. Definitely will not happen before the holidays. I'm thinking March or April.
