Our dryer croaked while I was on my business trip last week. Gary tinkered with it over the weekend and got it to work long enough to dry three more loads before it gave up the ghost. This is a huge issue for Gavin since he teaches and trains nearly every day, which would mean either regular trips to the laundrymat or a growing mound of supremely stinky laundry in his room.
We finally got out last night to check out some dryers and reserved one for pickup today. On the way home, I called Gavin to see what his schedule is like for helping me move it in. I was in a goofy mood, so the conversation went something like this:
Me: "Guess what we just bought?"
Gavin: "A dryer."
Me: "No! We were driving by this place and they were selling this used
bouncy castle for cheap and we bought it! I mean, like, how many times do you get chance like this, so we grabbed it."
Gavin: "Really?"
Me: "We totally bought a bouncy castle. This is gonna be awesome."
Gavin: (convinced) "Wow - really?"
Me: "No, just kidding. We bought a dryer."
Gavin: "I'm actually really disappointed."
Me: "Me too. I feel kinda bad now."
Gavin: "I don't know what it says about you that it was so easy to believe you."
Me: "I know."
