What form will your character's NV take? Technology canon is still....very ambiguous. We've seen computers and advanced machinery and we know there's electricity and televisions, but it's still very spotty.
So I suppose going off of that, his NV would take the form of some small notebook. I don't recall if there are cell phones in his world. They could exist but be scarce, but a small notebook would be best suited for someone like Hakkai.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Hakkai has two forms, one being his “human form” where his powers are suppressed and he looks like any average human being and his “demon form” where his ears are long and pointed, he has claws, and he looks a lot more wild.
In his suppressed state, he has the ability to use his Qi. Qi or “Chi”is life energy that he can manipulate in three ways. One is being his Qi Gong Canon where he can form a ball of energy into the palms of his hands then release it upon an opponent, blasting them away.
Another way is for healing. If someone is injured, he can heal them using his own Qi, creating a green glow over the victim and closing their wounds. This, however, doesn't compensate for any blood loss the victim has received, but he can repair fractured bones, gashes, minor cuts and bruises, and minor internal damage. If the victim is too far gone, there is little help his ability would do. It'd be like sewing up a stuffed animal with no more stuffing left. He cannot regenerate lost limbs or bring people back from the dead. He also cannot cure poison with his ability.
The last way is to create a protective barrier. By holding his hands out in front of him, he can create a dome shaped shield over just himself or anyone right beside him. This barrier can withstand a lot of pressure and potential damage. For example, he was able to stave off a collapsing underground fortress that was underneath tons of sand. This could protect him from bullets, projectiles, or even someone trying to beat the crap out of him. It couldn't, however, protect him from something like a high caliber missile.
If any of these Qi abilities are used in large amounts in one go, then he becomes faint, feverishly sick, and leaves a heavy strain on his body and will be out of commission for a couple of days and is forced to give himself a rest.
He is also very adept at martial arts. He's a skilled fighter and has more of a style than just scrapping like his companions.
He's also quicker and stronger than the average human, though that's probably not only due to the fact that he's a demon, but also the fact that he's done a lot of fighting during his journey with his companions.
He also picks locks.
In his demon form however, his Qi abilities increase with strength ten fold. The blasts from his canon are immense and extremely powerful. He isn't seen using his other two Qi abilities during this form since he only utilizes this form for offensive emergencies, but it could be understood that they also have increased in power.
His speed and strength also increase greatly. His speed becomes so advanced that not even a human with a skilled eye can see his movements. His strength is also almost comparable to the Seiten Taisei whose strength is godlike. He definitely could not best the Seiten Taisei, but he could certainly hold his own for a while.
Another ability comes with removing his limiters. All along his body are vine-like markings and unlike other demons we've seen, he can utilize them in combat.
The vines seem to extend from his body and creep along any surface he's touching. They can wrap around and bind another being in anyway he sees fit. It is almost as if the markings have become apart of the other person's skin.
Weapons: Hakkai knows how to use weapons, but doesn't since his body is enough of a weapon.

Character Personality: Hakkai is described as the 'mother' of the Sanzo-ikkou. If you were to utilize that 'family' gimmick with the quartet, Hakkai would be the mother, Sanzo would be the father, Gojyo would be the older brother and Goku would be the baby.
Hakkai has the most mild, polite, level-headed and pleasant personality out of them all. He'd possibly be the easiest to get along with, too. He's the mediator and diplomat, the water to the fire, earth, and air. Though there's a freezing and boiling point to this normally refreshing pool of water.
Hakkai is also what TV Tropes would like to call a Stepford Smiler. He is seen smiling almost all of the time. He has a smile for nearly every one of his emotions. There's his bashful smile, his polite smile, his welcoming smile, his sad smile, his “I'm-this-close-to-ripping-you-a-new-one” smile, his irritated smile, his snarky smile, his scary smile, his exasperated smile, and there are many more.
This can either warm or chill someone. His forced and 'negative' smiles are a lot more unsettling to look at than any genuine or true smile that he could give. The latter are far more rare to see than those that could unsettle a person. Then of course, his normal or polite smiles can make someone feel at ease.
This man is very nurturing. His homeliness is one sign of this. He can cook, clean, tend to medical needs, emotional needs, and can keep a domestic home running smoothly. He worries for people that are close to him and will nag them to stay put when they're in need of rest. He can just be a nag in general, scolding his companions about bad cleanliness habits or about pet peeves of his that they continue to step on. He will take on the responsibilities of supply shopping, making sure the inn is in order, making sure everyone is fed, giving hair cuts when they're needed, and all around taking care of what needs to be taken care of. He likes children, which stems from his caring nature and will do anything in the best of his ability to make sure those around him are protected.
Not to say that he's always a pleasant slice of apple pie. Underneath the surface, there's something very cold there. Even though he can easily get along with people, the relationship can easily just stop at being pleasant acquaintances. It's not easy to become close to this man since he can be rather cold-hearted and a bit prickly in personality. It would take someone who wants this man's help, protection, and friendship for him to start to become close to them. He likes to feel needed and if you can't provide this need to be needed, then he can easily feel inadequate and drift away to be open to someone else who needs him.
This might stem from a guilty conscience of not being able to save his sister when she was in trouble which resulted in her death.
For example, each person of the Sanzo-ikkou needs him in some way shape or form. Not to mention as a whole to keep them from murdering each other. Sanzo needs him for someone to have a mature conversation with as well as protection purposes. Gojyo needs him to keep his head on straight or else he'd end up making even more stupid decisions. And Goku needs someone to learn from and be mothered by.
Going from that, he has done some pretty reckless things in the name of protecting his comrades. Some things that you wouldn't have thought someone with such a strategical and brilliant mind would ever think of doing. But as they say, “Desperate times call for desperate measures” and he's displayed some of those moments.
A prime example of this is removing both his and Goku's limiters in one night to save Goku from dying. That not only put himself in danger, but everyone else around them in harm's way. He asked Gojyo to stop him if he started going berserk, but that would leave him to stop both the Seiten Taisei and a rampaging Hakkai, which, realistically, would have been a near impossible feat unless he lucked out in some way. Especially since Sanzo was nowhere to be found to even help get Goku back on track.
He can also be somewhat of a hypocrite when it comes to pushing himself to the brink. He scolds the others when they're moving around when they're injured or criticizes them for nearly getting themselves killed, but he turns around and does the same thing. This shows that he might have a low self-worth.
This man also used to feel a resentment towards demons because of what happened in the past. Demons haven't exactly redeemed themselves by attacking he and the gang nearly everyday on their journey, but he was able to see another side of them when he, Gojyo, and Goku stumbled upon a youkai village. It was just like any other village they'd been to save for its inhabitants. So now, youkai have a neutral standing with him.
Hakkai also has a hard time with women, he's only just now able to think about the future and think of being with someone other than Kanon. He's admitted that he doesn't know if he'd be able to hold one ever again.
Hakkai also isn't above insulting someone in a heartbeat. If you push too many of his buttons, he will be quick to shoot you down verbally or threatening you in such a way that it feels far too much like a promise to be comfortable with. And since he's normally such a pleasant person, some of the words that come out of his mouth when he's less than amused with someone come off far more intimidating than if Sanzo said it since it's to be expected from the monk.
With this, it keeps Gojyo and Goku on their toes with him. They know they've gone too far when Hakkai resorts to a harsh insult or a frightening threat. And he'll do it all with a smile which adds to the fear factor.
Onto another page of Hakkai, he does enjoy some of the smaller things in life. He likes to drink sake and seems to be able to drink as much as he wants without getting drunk. He can pack away bottles and bottles and be unphased. He also likes a simple tea or coffee.
He's also rather lucky at poker, rarely losing to anyone.
He enjoys reading and did so as well as a child. He's also something of a jack of all trades, master of none.
Though he went to college at such a young age and studied physics and theology, he didn't do anything with it, opting to be a teacher instead. He's never mastered anything and put it into use. This just adds to what makes him fit in with the quartet of misfits.
Character Plans: I've been wanting to app Hakkai somewhere for a little while now, but he'd become too lost in a tranquil environment since he's such a self-contenting character. I wanted him to be in a place where he'll be needed since he's that type to need to be needed in order to feel important.
He'll probably be one of Siren Port's Mama characters. He very nurturing, helpful, protective, and can heal. He'll be someone where any character can turn to for help regardless of what kind of person they are. He is a no questions asked type of person. He knows everyone has their story and it's none of his business unless they decide to make it his.
Appearance/PB: Hakkai is fairly tall for an Asian man, standing at 5'11”. He has a very thin build, not looking like he could even snap a twig in half. He keeps his deep brown hair short mostly in the back and lets his bangs fall into his face, parted on the left side, shielding his right eye. He has deep, emerald green eyes that a lot of people have commented on as being beautiful. He's also described by others as having a very pretty face.
He typically wears earthy colors. A lot of greens, browns, blacks, beiges, and whites. In some of the outfits Minekura has put him in consist of a casual and comfortable style that could be seen as stylish as well as sensible. Again in more muted or earthy colors. He also wears the more traditional casual clothing of the group, with the high collar and side buttoning long shirt. (Sanzo being the most traditional with monk's robes.)
He also wears a monocle over his right eye, though he also wears glasses. Why he opted to just wear a monocle when he wears glasses is beyond me.
There's also a headband apart of his normal ensemble, but it's seen on and off.
When he's in his demon form, his hair grows a bit longer, his left eye turns a yellow color with a sharper pupil while his other eye is unaffected by the change since it's a prosthetic. His ears become long and pointed, his fingernails become long like talons, and his demon markings appear in the form of vines. The most visible one being the trail across his cheekbones and nose and the one curling up his cheek. Though, the vine markings twist all over his entire body.

Well then, this is certainly an interesting turn of events...
If anyone would be kind enough to tell me where I am or how I got here, I would greatly appreciate it. Oh. Also, if anyone would happen to know where I can find my companions, I'd also be very grateful.
Their names are Gojyo, Goku, and Sanzo. Respectively, one is tall with long red hair about shoulder blade length with two strands that stick up like antennae. He has red eyes and has a foul mouth. The second is short with lighter brown hair, golden eyes, and a gold diadem on his head. If you've seen him, you might have also heard him say that he's hungry? Lastly, there's a blond of average height with deep purple eyes. He's wearing traditional monk garb and a scowl.
Thank you for any of your help. Any sort of information on either of these subject would be wonderful.
Third Person Sample
Hakkai let out an exasperated sigh, placing a hand onto his hip as he glanced at the aftermath of his recent battle. There were smoldering bits of flesh from some sort of beast that wasn't recognizable before, but definitely wasn't recognizable now.
He shook out his other hand that tingled a bit with the recent stop of Qi flow and continued to look around. He didn't know where he was at all. It was night time and everything looked and smelled as if Death had a party, got smashed, and trashed the place.
Hakuryu fluttered downwards from the sky and perched onto the man's shoulder. Hakkai reached upwards to stroke his long fingers on the white scaly neck of the dragon.
One thing that was on his mind was where the other three were. It was kind of anticlimactic fighting a battle full of strange beasts, but empty of one-liners, comments, and quips. Not that he enjoyed fighting all of the time, but it certainly lightened up the mood to hear the remarks of his comrades. Plus any one-liner he had himself would have gone unheard by anyone except for the dying monsters and his little pet dragon.
“We've got to find shelter and soon, right Hakuryu?” he said out loud. The He had a bad feeling about this place and that the monsters he had just offed were just the tip of the ice burg and there was something a lot worse lurking around somewhere.
So with that, he started running, the dragon flying behind him.
His emerald eyes glanced this way and that, straining slightly in the darkness. Everything looked dead and not just dead, but decaying. There were pungent smells that assaulted his nose to the point where breathing in was something of abuse to his lungs.
It was then he sensed the presence of something lurking behind him. He stopped and turned around quickly, tensing up. But nothing...
Now wasn't the time to linger around. He started running again. There were buildings around, lights on inside, but they all looked closed off and unwelcoming. He had to think quickly.
Speaking of which, he turned around quickly and held his hands out, creating a barrier, something splattering against the shield. It sizzled as it ran down the energy field. Acid. His eyes darted to the source, a humanoid with steam rising from its mouth started swaying its way towards him.
It was either fight or flight. If he fought, they could have even more unwanted company to follow so...
“Hakuryu!”
The small dragon made a kyuu noise and turned into a jeep. Hakkai jumped in and punched the gas. It was going to be a long night.

One thing that was on his mind was where the other three were. It was kind of anticlimactic fighting a battle full of strange beasts, but empty of one-liners, comments, and quips. Not that he enjoyed fighting all of the time, but it certainly lightened up the mood to hear the remarks of his comrades. Plus any one-liner he had himself would have gone unheard by anyone except for the dying monsters and his little pet dragon.
“We've got to find shelter and soon, right Hakuryu?” he said out loud. The He had a bad feeling about this place and that the monsters he had just offed were just the tip of the ice burg and there was something a lot worse lurking around somewhere.
So with that, he started running, the dragon flying behind him.
His emerald eyes glanced this way and that, straining slightly in the darkness. Everything looked dead and not just dead, but decaying. There were pungent smells that assaulted his nose to the point where breathing in was something of abuse to his lungs.
It was then he sensed the presence of something lurking behind him. He stopped and turned around quickly, tensing up. But nothing...
Now wasn't the time to linger around. He started running again. There were buildings around, lights on inside, but they all looked closed off and unwelcoming. He had to think quickly.
Speaking of which, he turned around quickly and held his hands out, creating a barrier, something splattering against the shield. It sizzled as it ran down the energy field. Acid. His eyes darted to the source, a humanoid with steam rising from its mouth started swaying its way towards him.
It was either fight or flight. If he fought, they could have even more unwanted company to follow so...
“Hakuryu!”
The small dragon made a kyuu noise and turned into a jeep. Hakkai jumped in and punched the gas. It was going to be a long night.
