The Doctor debated for a while whether finding Martha was actually a good idea, or if it would only make things worse. He did not debate for as long as he could have, because he hasn't seen Martha in days, and he missed her and worried about her and he's not in a mood to let anything get worse.
So before long, he's standing outside of Martha's room, all but expressionless. After a pause he taps lightly on the door, leaning his head against it as he calls through the door, "Martha?"
