Lifts. The Doctor never was a fan of lifts, except maybe when people backed him against them with guns, in which case lifts were wonderful things... Still.
He prefers stairs. Too many things that can go wrong with lifts - stairs he can run down, change direction halfway down, and every now and then they completely baffle Daleks. Not anymore, it seems, but he's still fond of them for that reason. And lifts always take much more time than he ever really wants to take.
So he's staring at the floor of the lift, bouncing on the balls of his feet and waiting impatiently as it goes down. Not nearly fast enough. He's got things to do. This isn't one of them. He could probably make it go faster, but that just gets him questions and reproving looks he doesn't need and...
