Life change #5693
I quit Starbucks. I put in my two weeks notice last Tuesday. The job just is not very much fun anymore. It's still interesting to an extent, sometimes an exciting breed of interesting, sometimes a creepy one. The balance is lacking. I have been thinking about it alot, and don't want to find myself 'stuck' in a job at 20 where I usually really hate going in. I have established the relationships that I want to, met some really wonderful folks.. and it's time for me to move on. I got a job working as a teaching assistant at a daycare, my group is 3's and 4's. It was so strange that it just kind of happened.. I was flipping through the yellow pages, and then two hours later I had a job. The kids are really awesome. They really dig me, and I really like them too. It feels good to feel good again. Rather than, 'your latte,m'aam. oh? What's that? Oh, you wanted it extrahot, 2% and with sugar-free vanilla? Sure, of course I will remake it for you. Just to let you know, next time you order that's a grande two percent, extra-hot, sugarfree vanilla latte.' Ass. Granted that's alot to remember when ordering a coffee product, but if you are going to be that fussy, at least know how to order it.
I feel that I am in a good spot. This will give me nights and weekends off, which I need so badly to focus more on school. I have been doing well, just not as good as I could be doing. The rough part will be the next two weeks, trying to keep up with TWO jobs on top of everything else. Last week it averaged out to be about a 40 hour week between the two. Awesome. Lisa has kind of threatened my life if I call out, so I really have to keep all my shifts. Which is really tough, to say the least.
Enough complaining.
Because there are much more important things going on in the world. Like the soft tissue found in the T-Rex bones in Montana, or the two species of bipedal octipi that have been discovered. So rad!!! The two octupi are awesome and used two legs to scale the bottom of the sea floor. One mimics a coconut, and the other a drifting plant of sorts. The coconut is my favorite. Hands down.
