The lady downstairs in the lower apartment in our duplex is moving out. Ryan has helped her all day long to move many of her belongings into her beautiful new house that her job is paying for. Bitch.
But we may just be able to move downstairs.
I'd really like to. There are so many pro's and a few cons about moving down there. First of all, I hate moving. Actually I loathe it. I am lucky it isn't far or I couldn't even want to consider it.
The pro's are simple. Our doorway in our current house is very hard to get out of when you have two bags, a blanket and a baby in your arms and you're trying to get outside and into your car without dropping anything. And the downstairs apartment is just a wide open living room with a NORMAL DOORWAY! I just want to for once be able to put my kid in a stroller and be able to just simply walk out the door instead of having to deal with everything I carry, dodge the baby gate that blocks the stairs, shimmy down the stairs and hope to God Isaac and I live to see the door open. It's the biggest pain in the ass.
PLUS, the washing machine and dryer would be basically ALL MINE. That means, I no longer have to wait until weekends to do laundry so that Ryan could watch Isaac while I go downstairs to put the clothes in. It would be right in the apartment with me. And Isaac would be able to just crawl in the room and notice that I havent gone anywhere. I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THINGS DONE.
The con's are irritating but I think I could find a way to work around them. Both rooms are smaller than the ones that we are in now. The bathroom doesnt have a tub, it just has a shower and Isaac isnt going to have that. One, he cant stand by himself yet and secondly, he loves his baths. I am thinking... Large plastic container? The other con is that the carpet has no padding underneath it and I am afraid that if Isaac falls he may hurt himself. I think we just need a big thick fluffy rug.
I didnt think that this woman was moving until April, and all of the sudden I see her packing her shit. I didnt have time to plan! I was thinking that IF, and this is a big "if", I am able to talk my land lady into letting me move downstairs, that I would at least have time to be able to figure out where I was going to put things and hopefully buy a headboard and a footboard for our bed. Mostly because the downstairs apartment used to be a business and it is much nicer all the way around. Overhead lighting, newly put up wallpaper, freshly painted walls... the list goes on.
Enough blabbing. Lets just hope that my land lady says yes.
