Birthday Plans
For my and Sarah's birthday (Friday September 2nd), we would like to have dessert at the Whitney and drinks at the Ren Cen before going out to the local Detroit bars. I was thinking that we could plan on having dessert at the Whitney around 8pm and having drinks at the Ren Cen around 9-9:30pm. The drinks at the Ren Cen are between $4.50 and $9.00, which is fairly reasonable. The restaurant is located on the top of one of the towers and revolves, so it is pretty exciting.
I think I am also planning on getting a hotel room in the Pontchartrain, depending on how many people would like to come. I called today for prices and it would be $119/night for two double beds. That means each person would have to put about 30 dollars towards the room. That is a little more than I would like to spend. So, my questions are as follows: Should we try to get a room at the Pontchartrain? Should we try to get a room at the Econo Lodge on Little Mack? Should we just go home after we are done drinking? The restaurant enforces a "dressy business" dress code, which means that jeans aren't allowed. Are people still interested in going to the Ren Cen? If so, we have to bring a change of clothing if we don't get a hotel room. We could always skip the Ren Cen and save it for another night.
