Lucas is a young boy from the small town of Twinleaf. His mother, Johanna, was a Contest Coordinator. His father is assumed to be a trainer, and is most likely training out of Sinnoh.
One day, his neighbor and best friend, Pearl asked Lucas to come along to Sandgem Town to meet up with the famous Prof. Rowan, and hopefully grab their very own Pokemon like what they saw on TV. As they reach Route 201, a small incident happened as Pearl was about to pass through the tall grass, even if he knew that it was dangerous to pass through without a Pokemon with them, Pearl nearly got both of them into danger. But luckily, Prof. Rowan came along and halts them on time. Although Rowan was quite stern at that incident that happened, he later finds out that they were willing to have a Pokemon to care with. And so, because of this, Rowan entrusted Lucas with Turtwig, while Pearl has the Chimchar. There, Lucas' adventure starts... traveling from route to route, town to city, caves to forests.
Along the way, he and his Pokemon learned a lot through experience, battled out against tough opponents, met and tagged along new friends, and fought against a villainous organization. But he couldn't have done it without the help of his friends, and especially with his Pokemon.
Later on, he defeated the Elite Four, as well as the Sinnoh champion, making Lucas earn the title instead. From then on, he'll face new challenges, more friends to meet, and more rivals to match up with.
Personality:
Unlike his impatient and somewhat egotistic best friend, He's a modest kid, patient, and pretty much cares for his friends and his Pokemon a lot. He's not the type who would like to brawl, he dislikes the idea of violence as the answer to anything. He's got a pretty huge curiosity streak, which this may be one of his main weaknesses, and could lead him into trouble. But sometimes his curiosity may be a good thing to have too, since it even helped him figure out some tricky situations around the Galatic HQ at Veilstone.
Lucas is also the type who doesn't want to see anyone feel sad or worried. He tries his best to cheer or comfort his fellow companions. He is willing to risk anything just to protect anyone. He always wears a calm and gentle smile, whenever all goes well.
