We went and im pretty sure only pending an awesome lineup and the ability to buy tickets near the day of off craigslist will we be ever going back.

The day started with a bike ride downtown. It was nice to get out and the ride was downhill, definitely helped Misty out. We got to Zilker around 1 and had no problems finding bike parking. We were rather sweaty and I suggested hitting up the springs, but Misty refused and said she would wait for the rain. It never rained. It was just oppressively humid until around 6pm.

We went first to see the B52's. I didnt really care to see these guys and their gig was more than enough reason to not want to see them ever again. Its such a dated look. Ok, so you have a new album and play new music, yet you all continue to look like you did in the early 90s. You dont see many successful people clinging onto that image for decades. Let it go... please.

Next it was on to grab some lunch. They had a ton of awesome vendors and this was close to the hallmark of the day. We dined on a boomerangs meat/veggie pie and some fries. However, the food was not without suffering. Upon entering the park there wasnt a whole lot that looked bad. Sure it was a little muddy, but nothing out of the ordinary given the conditions and our expectations. The vendor area though was complete different situation. Without exaggeration, it was a cesspool. Water, inches deep of mud, a putrid smell, with little end in sight. Folks were walking around barefoot with mud to their shins, if you wore shoes you couldnt tell what type and where they began/ended. This set the tone for the whole day. Just this pure avoidance of mud that could never be achieved. We stood in the middle of muck holding food for each other, it was magical.

Caught the toadies next and they rocked the house. Lots of oldies, very few new stuff. All of my expectations were met with a few extras. Only wish I didnt have stuff with me so I could move up to the front and get crazy.

The best act of the day was the The Dead Weather. They were great. The beats, the sound, it was all pretty awesomeness. Ill definitely look to hook up their stuff in the future. They are like this hybrid band of members from other bands like the White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age.

Lastly was Pearl Jam. They were no doubt really good and deserving of the headline. I wish I was up in the energy of the mob for that one, but I opted to stick with Misty. I ditch her enough for these things and the only thing that could have happened was I got covered in mud (wasnt interested in that one). They played a lot of old stuff which I didnt care for all that much. They have lots of good songs from vs on, so I was sad to hear like 8 songs from their original. Oh well i guess. Thats what you get when you hit up these things.

Anyhow, last one for this guy. Word
