Effects: Dissapointment, sorrow, failure, determined

The town was so quiet today. More than usual. The streets that were usually filled with children playing and running around were scarce. It almost seemed like a ghost town. Ever since that breakout of Geostigma , people have been more and more afraid to even step outside. Yet, it was more than that. Yuffie could hear some of the people whispering among themselves, as she walked down the street. Only able to catch a few things what they were saying.

'Look it's the princess...!' Can't you believe she's walking out so freely like this?'

'Doesn't she care at all about what she's done?'

''Ssssh, she'll hear.''

A frown tugged at the corner of her lips. She was unsure what they were talking about. Had she done something out of the ordinary to upset anyone? No, nothing...not even a prank she could think of. Well, she only use to do that on any unwanted outsiders at times. A ball rolled at her feet breaking her train of thought. She picked it up looking at it curiously before a little girl waved over to her smiling brightly.

'Princess! Princess! Throw it over here!'

She smiled a bit before toing to toss the ball back over to the girl until a woman came and grabbed her by the arm to quickly lead her away.

'Anya, no! What were you thinking?'You could get that disease from the princess if you associate with her!'

W-what? Her eyes widened in surprise hearing her words. The ball slipped out of her grasp and bounced on the ground before rolling away from her.

"Is...that what you all think?" There was a long pause of silence, as no one spoke up. Her fingers clenched in the palm of her hand and her teeth bit down on the bottom of her lip before she raised her voice, "I demand an answer! Is that what you all think!?" That was the most outlandish thing she had ever heard. How could her people even think such a thing? Eyes narrowed falling upon the ball that had rolled away. Anyone that was near it moved away from it quickly as if it was so very filthy....tainted even.

''If it wasn't for you this wouldn't have happened!'

'That's right...! You leave more than anyone from this country and associate with those outsiders!'

'You've brought this plague upon us and it's going to kill us all!''

'Some of the children have even gone missing!'

Her heart felt like it sank down into the pit of her stomach. She wasn't sure how to respond to the accusing words that were being spouted her way. There was a shake of her head trying to clear her thoughts, before she tried to address her people, "I don't even have it! You have to believe me. I'm doing everything I can to figure out what's causing it.. Please if you all can just..."

'Liar!'

It all had happened so fast, she didn't even realize when she flinched from the pain that connected with her cheek and the sound of the rock clattering on the ground.  There were low gasps from the people. Some surprised that someone dared to even strike her in the midst of their frustration and anger. A hand went to her cheek slowly feeling where she was hit before looking at the palm of her hand where blood had stained her skin lightly. How was this happening? Was she failing her people so much they thought she brought so much misfortune on them? Hadn't she tried everything in her power to protect her people and keep her country thriving?

Her arm went back to her side slowly, before she began to walk forward. Not looking at anyone as they moved out of her way. She wasn't going to let this happen. No, they weren't going to suffer like this again....

[The feed ends and it shows Yuffie sitting on the floor sitting in an indian style position with her head lowered. Eyes opened slowly before her hand began to slowly rub her neck. She must have dozed off while she was trying to meditate. Figures Leon would be right 'again'.']

Really out of practice....really need to get it together.

[A hand went up to her face where a band-aid was placed on her cheek when she had treated one of her injuries from a week back. There was a heavy sigh before she dropped her face into her hand and softly mumbled to herself.]

...I'm so not ready to lead anyone.

!dream, not ready to be a leader
