sometimes I really, REALLY miss the days where I was new and shiny and had one fandom which happened to be large and still relatively stable (though waning) and everything was on lj, and all that put together meant lots of fandom friends that I talked to and formed fuzzy connections with. I miss *knowing* people, not just recognizing their ( Read more... )

Really? IMO it was Tumblr. Zero personal interaction.

I think they colluded. though I much prefer reading and posting fic on AO3, I have to say, yeah it is a lot less interactive which is sad.

This so much.

Between tumblr and anon memes (which dont get me wrong I love) there's no long term relationship building happening in fandom anymore.

I don't understand the point of anon memes? I've said and done more than my share of stupid shit in fandom, all with my name attached. Life goes on.

Late reply, sorry.

I feel like the point of anon meme's was so people could try out fandoms that weren't their normal one without anyone knowing. Or write something in their fandom that they normally wouldn't. Plus it let people without LJ accounts post fic.

I have a love hate relationship with them because some of my favorite fic happened because of anon memes but then so many things I LOVED TO DEATH where anon and then abandoned or lost and it breaks my wee little heart.
