fuck you, spn writers, for your continual assassination of a character I love, and retconning of abuse into what was, in the early seasons, a fucked up but loving family dynamic.

Yeah, you know the more I think about this ep, the more it hurts my feelings. So much doesn't add up. Why was Dean gambling? How is saying, "Sammy, I lost Dean on a hunt" better than "I left your brother in juvie to teach him a lesson???" Sam wouldn't have been scarred for life?

And I heard that originally Dean was supposed to have been 14 here. Which to me makes WAY more sense. A)Is it likely he would have waited until 16 for a kiss? B)His punk ass attitude implies an objective awareness of his dad's thrall over him, which simply isn't true until he's like, 30. It's easier to pass off the attitude as the knee-jerk response of the newly enhormoned. It's established fact that Dean loved John and didn't question the mission. C)Sam, if he'd been 12 there, looks like he's a little, erm, slow. It really only jibes if he's 10. And even that's a stretch. What, was he some kind of princess that Dean and John conspired to keep in the dark as long as possible about literally everything?

Not to mention the devil's traps, don't even get me started. Ha, uh. I think maybe I have feelings about this episode. This is the first time I've attempted to type them.

ANYWAY ita: It's really more Sam's pov this ep on the condition of Dean's woobiefied little stay at the magic farm.

Yeah, the whole thing would have made a lot more sense if Dean was 14. Plus, lots of other stuff wrong, blah blah... mostly I was just happy to have something that didn't suck as much as the rest of this sucktastic season :P Plus, I really had fun watching it. It felt so much like classic SPN, I had this goofy smile the whole time.
