I read at least one review on tumblr that was less than impressed; I liked it, but there were a few things out of sync, though; the Avengers not being at Level 7 security-not even Natasha?? One thing the tumblr reviewer said was that Coulson was too sassy (she's a comic nerd, so her reasoning had to do with comics), but I liked him that way! He turned serious when he needed to, and slid the jokes in like knives elsewhere. Sharp, unexpected knives where you just sit there for a half second before bursting into laughter.
I've only watched...the first year of Dexter, I think; it was syndicated on either the CW, Fox, or our local channel for a while, then went away. So I don't have an opinion either way.
I was whelmed by SHIELD. Here was what I thought as it was happening: Gee, I guess Joss has finally learned his lesson.
I don't think what we want from his work is what the network wants. Also, pilot, so going to be uneven. but on the plus side: Coulson! And subverting every single trope and expectation virtually as soon as it was presented! That can only happen in the Whedonverse. So yeah, on the one hand: meh, but on the other, it's the sort of meh you give when your genius kid brings home an A- paper, you know?
