"RioThe Doctor threw open the doors of the TARDIS and stepped outside. Yes, it was Rio this time! He twirled around and looked at all the sights. Mid-Twenty-first century. Not too shabby. He clapped his hands together, after shifting around in his jacket, and turning back to the police box ( Read more... )

Now this was where Amy wanted to be; while she did enjoy helping the Doctor save the universes, Amy wanted a real vacation. She felt like she was going to waste away in Leadworth with no real vacations coming her way. Things changed when she went off with the Doctor. Now she was here in Rio with three of the most amazing people she has ever had the pleasure of meeting.

When the Doctor headed towards the door Amy was right behind him. She was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for him to open the door. This was taking forever and she felt like she could spontaneously combust at any moment. "Come on. Open it!" She said under her breath and almost squealed with delight when he finally opened the doors. With her excitement, she nearly pushed passed the Doctor as she got outside and looked around.

"So much better than I imagined," she said with pure delight in her voice. Amy then turned towards the TARDIS to wait for Jack and Donna to join her and the Doctor.

Jack stepped out of the TARDIS and moved forward instantly. It was time for him to relax, and not only that, with his friends. He figured he'd check out the city, have fun at the shows, then go to the bars later.

"Shows. Bars later tonight. Don't wait up for me." Jack meant it. After all, he did have the habit of staying out late and doing things. Not that he intended to get drunk or something.

"It really is very nice." And turning towards Amy he asked, "Your choice, then? Good taste."

There's one of the Doctor's traveling trio missing, of course. Not missing, though, so much as still in the wardrobe room, trying to decide what to wear. It was Rio, after all, and thus the perfect spot to ditch her male companions and go find some temporary ones. Which meant the perfect sundress.

This would've been much easier if the TARDIS had any idea what the perfect sundress was, and how to get one that fit Donna decently.

With the others already standing outside, Donna peeked her head out of the wardrobe room and shouted. "I'll just be another bit! I promise!"

The Doctor watched Amy bounce up and down and glanced at Jack. He poked his head into the TARDIS, shouting at Donna: "Hurry it up then! Rio isn't going to wait on you finding a dress, Donna!"

Then he turned his attention back to the two outside. He smiled. "Maybe you ought to go and spend the day with Jack, Amy. Learn how the Captain of the 51st Century handles mid-21st Century Rio de Janerio. And not badly, I hope."

"I can always keep the Captain in line," she said as she raised her eyebrows up in a suggestive manner before wrapping an arm around Jack's. "I don't see any harm in spending the day with Jack, it'll give us some time to get to know one another and give you some time with Donna."

"You don't mind, do you Jack?" Amy then looked to the Doctor to see what he was going to say about this.

Jack takes her arm and raises an eyebrow at her. "I think that sounds fantastic. If you have anything you want to do, tell me." He meant anything. He didn't have any shortage in resources, of course.

"I wouldn't mind at all, after all. I've had time out with both the Doctor and Donna. It is our turn."

As, when the Doctor yelled at her, she was making a face at the dress she was trying to try on, it took a bit for her to answer. But by the time she could, she'd found a nice green and blue printed dress that, yes, would do just fine.

Of course, she still needed to fix her hair.

Grabbing a handful of bobbypins, Donna finally left the wardrobe room, mosing out past the console to the front doors. "Actually, Rio stays like this for nearly a thousand years," she said loudly, her way of saying she was ready and coming out now. "It will wait."

The Doctor rolled his eyes. "Oh, yes, yes, except it'll expand and shrink and have a few more Hollywood films done inside it. Anything else you want to ruin for Amy and Jack, Donna?" He gave her a look, but it was all playful. After all it was like arguing with himself.

"So, then! Jack and Amy have decided to see Rio for themselves. Hope you don't mind spending the day with boring old me." He grinned. "Or we could go our separate ways. Whichever you prefer."

Then he turned to the other two, pointing at each of them. "You two stay out of trouble. You know what I mean by 'trouble', Jack." Though if Jack and Amy found some sort of companionship, there wasn't much he could do.

"No interfering with major time events if there are any."

"We can't really avoid trouble if it comes looking for us," Amy grinned and gave Jack a devious look before turning a more innocent looking one to the Doctor. "I promise to stay out of trouble the best I can, but it seems like it'll find us eventually in some way."

"Promising the best we can is going to be the best we can do." Jack nodded. He fully agreed. He knew that where they ended up, things always tended to have something happen. He hoped for just the vacation, though.

He saluted the Doctor. "Yes, I'll be on my best behavior."

"I'm not ruinin' anything for anyone," Donna insisted, finally slipping out of the TARDIS and starting to work on putting at least some of her hair up out of her way. Much as she loved her mane of ginger hair, it could be a bother.

She gave a smile to both Jack and Amy. "More important than behaving, have enough fun to make up for the Doctor not having any, alright?"

"Dreadfully boring." the Doctor said, agreeing to Donna's statement. "Me, in a museum. You all at the shows and bars and casinos! But, no, quite alright. You all enjoy yourselves. Not everyday we get a vacation."

"You deserve to enjoy yourself as well, Doctor." She wanted him to have fun; to get his mind off things and just relax. Amy had feeling that she was going to have an amazing time with Jack.

"Doctor, if you don't have fun, I could produce some threats that would actually convince you to try to." Jack never broke promises like this - when it came to having fun with someone. After all, he and Amy needed to bond. They hadn't done that before.

Ever so amused, Donna laughed at the bantering of her friends. "If nothing else, I think I can get him walking barefoot on the beach," she said, casting a look at the Doctor. "That'll be a start."

"Now that is something I've yet to try out in this body." the Doctor said thoughtfully, a grin spreading on his face. "Walk on a beach barefoot... sounds brilliant. Did all the good ideas get shoved into your head, Donna, or am I just getting old?"

He smiled over at the pair of trouble makers (weren't they all troublemakers?). "Home by midnight. The both of you."
