That's awful, Serenity. It's unfair of anyone to ask that of you, and I hope you understand that there is nothing wrong with you that needs to be altered.
I understand that, but where I have never had any issues regarding my body before, now all I can think about is how someone out there thinks I'm disgusting.
Spectre was hurt and it was for reasons we couldn't explain to our label. We didn't get the album out soon enough for them, so they dropped us and the only label that wants to pick Spectre up has said they won't do it unless I lose weight. Spectre apparently went off at them and turned them down, but that means that the reason my band doesn't have a label is because I like to eat.
Spectre has been so wonderful, but I still feel like a disgusting piece of shit.
Sorry. I didn't mean to be a problem while you're worried about Noah.
You're my kid too, Serenity, and if things like that are going on with you then I want to know. Noah's out of the woods for now so let me worry about you for a moment.
As I see it, the music industry has very little to do with talent and a lot to do with looks, and those looks are supposed to fit into the very thin categories that some mysterious higher ups have deemed acceptable and it's ridiculous. I'm willing to bet that Spectre and the band are a whole lot more upset that some faceless entity has deemed someone they love 'unacceptable' when she is anything but.
You're not a stick-figure of a woman, but nor are you some obese creature who sits on the couch and eats continuously. You're healthy and happy and talented and that should be all that matters, but in the industry you've chosen to live in that is unfortunately not enough.
I suppose you have to either change to suit their vision (which I hope you don't) or find a way to do what you want to do without having to compromise.
I am not a goddamn pop star. The kind of music Spectre makes isn't usually about image. It's about the opposite of image. I don't want to be a stick figure of a woman! Spectre already refused the label so it's not about changing or compromising. It's about the fact that I feel shit for causing my band mates to miss out on an opportunity.
I wasn't aware changing to suit their vision should be an option. I just assumed it wasn't one.
I think I can rustle something up from the pantry, although you'll have to deal with Andy's current excitement over the fact that some famous vampire actor posed for a photo with her today.
Yes, she's very excited about it!!!!!! There is photographic evidence of her being hugged by a large blond man and I feel rather protective about it all.

Blah. If I come see you, will you feed me?
And yes, I would rather come see you than Emily, even as much as I love her.
