The guy in the building across the street is yelling at the store owner from downstairs. They had a fight about 15 minutes ago, and now the guy has his window open and is just yelling "you're going to jail!" over and over. It's like bad t.v. but in person :)
I'm working hard on trying to break my standard behaviors. I think the thing I hate most in life is feeling like my behavioral patterns are set and unchangeable. It's the way we are wired, but I think we can overcome it. Of course, I haven't proved that yet ;)
I read today that a child has more neurons at age 1-2 than they ever will again. The brain 'prunes' excess neurons up through puberty -- focusing on making the neural pathways you use more established and solidified. Speaks a lot to childhood imagination and learning - as well as patterns, habits and the challenge of finding a new perspective.
I'm going to tahoe this weekend. Jen and I are joining about 10 other friends and just relaxing and hanging out at a chalet/cabin/condo thingie. I'm excited about the break. I haven't had an actual vacation in a VERY long time. This doesn't really count considering it's a long weekend, but it's honestly the closest I've come in a long time.
