The Really Fucking Good News:

  • As of today, I have just been accepted to SUNY Potsdam. ... First ever acceptance, and it's from my first choice. ^___^

[[ Note: Okay, okay, my first choice is technically Crane, which is a part of Potsdam. & I am accepted there only bearing that my March audition goes well; so, I know, there's no real cause to celebrate just yet. Trust me: It's not like I'm not encouraging anyone to be too zealous about congratulating me already, just because I got into a state school whose only requirements include a B average and some mediocre standardized test scores. ;) // It's just that it's my first big step toward attending Crane, and I'm thrilled about the idea of that. Now I can focus on music purely, because academics and SATs and bullshit are done, in their eyes. I can't wait for the audition. ... And, you know what? Even if I fall on my face and perform below par, I swear I'll just attend there for French (my second major) and reaudition as soon as is possible. I am more than a little bit heartset, I daresay. ]]

The Really Fucking Bad News:

  • My cell phone was stolen from the practice room 3rd period today, along with some of my money.

[[ My parents have already canceled the line, which was making mysterious calls as soon as the school day ended. They've been in contact all sorts of people (insurance companies, Verizon, the police, et al.), tracking calls to places and obtaining search warrants and possibly pressing criminal charages, and... it's very messy. But despite the messiness, the fact remains: We're still out a lot of money that we really don't have, and it's still partly because of me. I do feel guilty and irresponsible after this whole mess. I guess you could say that my fault is in being trustworthy, but we all know that's just a euphemism. //

// So. I have to report the theft tomorrow to the police and the school, evidently. But what I really want to do most is ask Mr. Palange to just give the same speech to the bands -- Concert Band specifically, since the theft occured during their rehearsal period -- that he did when someone stole money from Laura Z's locker last year: "If you did do it, just return the property, and there'll be no consequences and no questions asked."

... Wouldn't that be nice. ]]

Anyway: Off to a lesson.

I get the recording of last May's voice competition today, so. There's that.

(End of entry.)
