soldierinbloom did this totally cool thing in
amatomnesooc where s/he researched some of our characters and applied the appropriate tarot card to them ♥ Major Ivan Raidenovich Raikov's result:
XV -- The Devil, also known as Desire, Duality, the Child of the Forces of Time. This is usually a purely negative card, and does not symbolize what most think. It's targeted towards greed and "too much of a good thing" at times. While it can mean passion and advantages in the right places is mostly stands for seeing things in black and white, a duality of a corrupted, beat mind that can free itself if it only tries. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. The most important lesson the Devil teaches you is that you can free yourself from whatever restrictions are holding you back, at any time you choose to. The chains that bind the figures on the Devil card are loose enough to be thrown off at any time. There is still positive energy within you that you can tap to break free - but only if you can let go of the materialism and that the Devil embodies. In the end, the best way to free yourself of the Devil's bondage is not to submit to it, but to accept it as the shadow that must be cast wherever there is light. Having accepted the shadow, you can look to the light.
It doesn't mean it's completely ill-will. To desire is to seek, to aspire, to wish for something. Why did you get this obvious choice of a card, Major? Because you, quite simply, are that kind of guy. You could let go of all that cruelty, so easily unlock those chains, if you weren't so caught up in the rush.
