Stormy Week
We've had a lot of storms recently. I don't mind the rain so much, although it keeps Sam and I inside. I get a little irrational about wind storms. Anyway, last Saturday a big wind/ hail storm came through our part of town. Thankfully, we weren't home at the time. We were oblivious about it until we turned off the freeway into our neighborhood.
Every bit of ground was covered in leaves and branches. Our neighbor's lawn furniture had blown into the fence, so we actually had to drive around the bulge to get into our driveway. And there was a line of hail stacked up against the side of our house! It was about 20 hours before the ice completely melted.
When we cleaned up the next day, we had about 7 bags worth of leaves and twigs. We had an insurance guy out on Tuesday and we got a check to help fix the roof, replace our screen door, paint two sides of the house, and fix our air conditioning unit. Some of our neighbors have broken windows. Oddly enough, our motion detector light (which hasn't worked in years), started working again.
I'll be glad when storm season is over and summer finally arrives. We will get a summer this year, right??
