I'm happy to report I'm getting better at my stripper poling/pole dancing. When I first installed the pole in my living room a month or two ago I literally couldn't lift myself off the ground! I had been slacking on going to yoga lately, but still, that's pretty bad. I've pulled so many muscles - mostly in my abs as I've been practicing (I need to do more ab strengthening stuff). I also have bruises all over my body. I had one giant black bruise the size of a baseball on the back of my knee, and I was only practicing for 10 minutes. I think a combo of getting older and a new medication I'm on is causing the crazy bruising.

Anyway, I can now do a bunch of different spins, hold myself on the pole in the spilts, sit on the pole, etc. I still haven't tried hanging upside down from it or doing anything crazy. It's definitely a good upper body workout, and it's even cardio. It hasn't done anything for my lower body yet. The pole hasn't fallen out of the ceiling yet, and it's easy to take down as needed. A friend of mine got excited when I mentioned getting it and she's getting one too for her new house!
